 Our dad... Hi all, just note to let you know that our dad, Ron, passed away sometime during the night. He went quietly in his sleep with his arm curled around one of the dogs (Nurse Sasha). That's how we found him this morning so he did have some company. He had open heart surgery in May, but was doing well and had no complaints yesterday except a little bit of weariness. If you have a minute please say a prayer for him and if your dad is still with you, call him or hug him close today.

Re: Our dad... I am so sorry for your lost. Im sure this is an extremely tough time for you, but I hope you take some comfort in the way your father passed. I am a physician, so I am keenly aware of how bad death, or rather end of life, can sometimes be. Passing away in one's sleep, with their arm around their canine companion......we should all be so lucky. I doubt that offers you any comfort, but I hope on some level it may provide even the slightest relief of your pain. Death is always harder on the living. My thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry for you and Bob's loss.
Yes, Nurse Sasha was with Ron when left, but you and Bob were with him while he lived! You and Bob shared in Ron's final days. So many of our elders pass on alone in the world.
You and Bob gave and were given a rare gift with Ron... Time!
I so hope to spend time with you'all again...
