 New Years Plans?
Since my birthday is Dec. 29 I usually get to choose where the boyfriend and I spend New Years. This year I've decided that I want to to New York City!! The plan is as follows: 12/29 - Disco Biscuits show at Best Buy Theater 12/30 - Phish @ MSG followed by after party with Jenn Hartswick & Natalie Cressman, The Heavy Pets, & Kung Fu 12/31 - Disco Biscuits at the Theater at MSG 01/01 - RECOVER I have never done NYC on New Years and I am super duper stoked. (This plan is also the reason that I did not get my Wanee ticket yet) What are your plans?

 Re: New Years Plans?
My wife and daughter went to NYC last New Years and had a blast.... Just don't expect to see the ball falling. Hope you have as much fun as they did.
My daughter is flying out of Orlando to NYC as this is written...going to Santacon. If you have never heard of it....look it up online. About 20,000 people dress up as Santa and parade the streets of New York.....singing.....and hitting the bars. Santacon.com

We will probably spend NYE in a remote cabin in the woods, that's just the way we are...

I am entertaining the idea of having my first child next year so I would really like to check 3 drunk nights of shows including New Years in NYC off my bucket list now

About 20,000 people dress up as Santa and parade the streets of New York.....singing.....and hitting the bars. Santacon.com I did NYC Satancon in 2010. It was a freaking BLAST! Its part flash-mob, part-pub crawl. You are in a sea of santa's and other holiday related creatures and beings all drunk and merry. My favorite memory is from earlier in the day, we were getting on the Subway with the gaggle of Santas singing various raunchy versions of Christmas carols (quite a sight to see for all the regular Joe's just trying to get where they are going) and a hispanic woman and her children are on the train looking rather nervous and shocked at what they are seeing. One of the children yells out a request for Feliz Navidad, some of the Santas nearby (including yours truly) kind of look around at each other and start singing Feliz Navidad. Soon enough the whole train car packed with Santas is belting it out full force. The woman and her kids singing along with us, now faces changed from mild horror and confusion to pure holiday joy. At the end of the song the woman is almost in tears and says "Thank you all, its a Christmas Miracle!" That made me feel better about being drunk all day running around NYC dressed as Santa. Other highlights include Santa pyramids (cheerleader style) in Time Square, Washington Square Park, and 30 Rock, giving away "free pictures with Santa" to random tourists all day, and receiving a super cool bell from another Santa for "good Santa spirit" (which I proceeded to drunkenly ring non-stop the rest of the day to my friends dismay).
