Just don't expect to see the ball falling.
Hope you have as much fun as they did.

My daughter is flying out of Orlando to NYC as this is written...going to Santacon. If you have never heard of it....look it up online. About 20,000 people dress up as Santa and parade the streets of New York.....singing.....and hitting the bars.

I did NYC Satancon in 2010. It was a freaking BLAST! Its part flash-mob, part-pub crawl. You are in a sea of santa's and other holiday related creatures and beings all drunk and merry. My favorite memory is from earlier in the day, we were getting on the Subway with the gaggle of Santas singing various raunchy versions of Christmas carols (quite a sight to see for all the regular Joe's just trying to get where they are going) and a hispanic woman and her children are on the train looking rather nervous and shocked at what they are seeing. One of the children yells out a request for Feliz Navidad, some of the Santas nearby (including yours truly) kind of look around at each other and start singing Feliz Navidad. Soon enough the whole train car packed with Santas is belting it out full force. The woman and her kids singing along with us, now faces changed from mild horror and confusion to pure holiday joy. At the end of the song the woman is almost in tears and says "Thank you all, its a Christmas Miracle!" That made me feel better about being drunk all day running around NYC dressed as Santa. Other highlights include Santa pyramids (cheerleader style) in Time Square, Washington Square Park, and 30 Rock, giving away "free pictures with Santa" to random tourists all day, and receiving a super cool bell from another Santa for "good Santa spirit" (which I proceeded to drunkenly ring non-stop the rest of the day to my friends dismay).

Cool story... :)

Havin' a good time, here today
Watching the sun shine, matinee..

Last year my son got on the train out on the island dressed in his Santa outfit...except he had a Gator hat on in the style of a Santa hat. (he went to UF). The train is loaded with people headed into the city from the island. All of a sudden somebody breaks out in the Seminole chant and then they all join in. My son called me and said he got on the "train from hell". I don't know that these people knew they were doing the rival teams cheer or not, but they all were doing it. Of course, being a Seminole fan....I thought it was "funny as hell."

Universal Orlando, City Walk…REO Speedwagon on NYE and to start 2013 off on the best foot B.B. King on 01.01.13 at Orlando’s Hard Rock.

Following the shadows of the skies or are they only figments of my eyes?
And I'm feeling close to where the race is run
Waiting in our boats to set sail, sea of joy

Hey hey hey to all my Wanee family! Salutations and well-seasoned greetings for the upcoming soul-stice ;)

Assuming we don't all go *poof* on 12/21 :P , number one son Mikey and I have lots of fun lined up for the NYE weekend. Donna the Buffalo is all over FL between Christmas and NYE, and beyond. We are going to catch their Fri 12/28 show at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale, then hit two of three nights over at Skipper's in Tampa, 12/30 and 12/31. Need a rest day in there :D

If you're around Tampa that NYE weekend, you could do worse; lots of the Suwannee family will be at the DtB shows! Plus some good opening acts are lined up: The Believers, and the Hindu Cowboys.

Be safe and have fun, wherever you are gonna be 8-)
