 Re: Remember When
Gasoline, cigarettes, and cheap beer were less than a dollar! You took film to the store to be developed. Phones were wired to the wall. 8-track players were cool. Jerry wore a red shirt!
J.R. Ewing said "sumbitch".
On a side note, yesterday I saw where a "Rare" color photo of the Beatles was being auctioned.

 Re: Remember When
And if you wanted a specific album you did a tour of all the record stores in the area (including pawnshops) ROAD TRIP!
I remember life without the internet..seems we used to get together more and pile up on a couch to interact .

 Re: Remember When
Try explaining to the young'uns why e-mails have CC and BCC options.
I was lucky enough to own a record store from 1974 to 1978 in Tampa -- School Kids Records. I was a lousy businessman and would have gone out of business anyway, but Peaches opening up around the corner DEFINITELY did NOT help!
It's hard to expalin to the young'uns what "in the groove" means as it applies to records.
33 1/3? 45s? 78s?
Hey, kids! Trivia question: how many grooves does a normal LP have? (LP means long-playing record, about 15-20 minutes on a side, compared to a single, typically 2-4 minutes in the old days.)

 Re: Remember When
I remember collecting glass bottles to turn in; skateboarding when it was popular the first time around, banana seat bikes, the Monkees on Saturday - not the reruns-; mini bikes, waterbed/head shops; hanging out in Daffin Park off Victory dr on Friday and Saturday nights; going to Atlanta on weekends to see older brother and spending all Saturday in piedmont park listening to bands - first time seeing the allman bros was there; and sneaking into a bar called "bottom of the barrel" to see blues band...I loved my coming of age years

But we did have a good time smoking our life away.....no cigs tho.
