I agree....I think adding them a few days before Wanee would be best.....haven't tried leaving them in for an extended period of time.....afraid they would rot or something.

You can drink right away....but it is like chilli...better the second day than the first. It should hold up for a year...I have heard people that have kept it that long. Sterilize your jars and lids and seal just as you would if you are canning. The rubber seals on the jar lids seal to the jar....so it should last a good while.
Some people say to filter the mix through cheesecloth or such....but I just leave it as it comes out .....I believe it will settle to the bottom anything that would filter out and not matter....it should not last that long....
This recipe makes about 10-12 quarts...so be prepared with a big pot to cook and mix together in.
Just use a funnel to pour into jars. Or put in a cooler with spout to pour into jars.
Everyone that I have given any to loves it...so it must be okay.
