I'm Jeff from Maine, new to Wanee and the boards, although I've been lurking and learning for the past couple of weeks. Trying to learn as much about this fest as possible before we fly down. Been to Gathering of the Vibes a couple years and will be going back this year. I believe we are going to try NATEVA this year also.
As far as music goes, I listen to about everything, no real favorites. I played a little guitar way back but haven't picked one up in a long time. Now I occaisionally bang on a drum around the camp fire. My wife found this fest and we like the line up so we decided to give it a try.
Hopefully we'll get to meet some of you!

Hi All! I've been to Wanee the past 3 years, but haven't ever camped on site. This year I'm going to join the fun and I'm really looking forward to it. INCREDIBLE line up and lots of great people to meet.

Hey now! Veteran festival goer but first time Wanee experience. Been reading the "Read this first" threads for the past day & a half. Not done yet but I figured if I didn't post I'd look like I was creeping the site. Can't wait to get down there and rage it up with you folks.
So, first question is this. I've seen people mention hammocks and from the looks of the google maps it seems to be nice and wooded but how is it for hammock camping? We rock a couple of hammocks instead of a tent so we need some sturdy trees with some decent spacing (12-15' is ideal). We'll be rolling in 2ish on Wed so I think we'll be good on finding a spot. But that was so last week.

Re: Lets get to know each other 2011 I'm Steve from Lutz, Florida. This will be my 3rd consecutive Wanee. We'll be camping in the Loop. Look for the guys playing poker. Stop by and say hi and I'm sure that there will be a cold beer with your name on it. The best thing about Wanee is getting away from everything going on in this crazy world for 3-4 days. I'm hoping that Mule will be there this year and I have my fingers crossed that the Drive By Truckers or Jason Isbell and the 400 unit will appear. I don't have the gift to play, although my son does. I make up for it with perhaps the most eclectic taste in music that you'll find.
