I've been to all Wanees except one, but didn't start camping on site until 2009. It's a totally different world when you stay over. Think of it as a huge assed slumber party! Great campfire jams, meeting new neighbors who actually have become lifelong friends, PLUS you never know who you might meet walking around or back to camp. Also there is the added bonus of being able to return to your campsite during the day for food, drink or to recharge. Consider an RV, a sturdy tent with a good air mattress or whatever suits your fancy, but consider staying over!!

:D :P :D :P

Thank you for your advice. I will recommend avoiding the motels and stay in the park to them.

Some people don't like camping or noise while they're trying to sleep. Some people want to be where the action is.

Now that I've experienced air conditioning in a trailer I would hate to go back to sleeping in the back of the SUV on a baby mattress, much less a tent.

We won't have AC but the camper IS very comfortable :)

The guy who stayed behind us last year was in a tent on a powered site and had a fan blowing in the tent. He said it made all of the difference in the world. My trailer is very old and did not come with a AC. I was able to put a small window unit in under the fridge. Works pretty well but yea, just being a camper sealed off from the world with room to stretch is a nice upgrade. I hear they are putting window units up on blocks on the side of tents now. Supposedly that works real well.

You can pick up one of those little units for about $100. If they can keep you cool sounds like a no brainer.
