Some people don't like camping or noise while they're trying to sleep. Some people want to be where the action is.
Now that I've experienced air conditioning in a trailer I would hate to go back to sleeping in the back of the SUV on a baby mattress, much less a tent.

The guy who stayed behind us last year was in a tent on a powered site and had a fan blowing in the tent. He said it made all of the difference in the world. My trailer is very old and did not come with a AC. I was able to put a small window unit in under the fridge. Works pretty well but yea, just being a camper sealed off from the world with room to stretch is a nice upgrade. I hear they are putting window units up on blocks on the side of tents now. Supposedly that works real well.

usually April in North Florida sweaty sleeping isn't the problem

You can pick up one of those little units for about $100. If they can keep you cool sounds like a no brainer.
