 Floyd Fest
Has anyone here ever been? What the deal with camping? How is the fest overall?

 Re: Floyd Fest
I know myself and Riverat went last year but unfortunately didn't get to hook up (cell service stinks).
It's a lot of fun and very laid back. Multiple stages basically scattered around a giant field up in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Seemed like more local older and younger folks with a definite mountain vibe. I plan on going back again this year. If you like the lineup, do it.
I camped onsite and it was super convenient although downhill at a slight angle. Plus was it was about 300 yards to the main stage and you couldn't even hear it much.

 Re: Floyd Fest
Pros: Beautiful venue in Blue Ridge. Usually a killer lineup. Klean Kanteen free water. Very "green" festival. Not a droog free for all. Cons: You have to get there early or you end up screwed. Park offsite, unload your gear, load gear into school bus, get driven to fest, unload you gear, load your gear onto trailer, get driven to campground, unload your gear, find a campsite, drag gear to campsite. Repeat to exit except wait in line for 2 hours to catch shuttle back to offsite parking. Only to run into road block a couple miles down the road. Drinking in designated beer and wine gardens only per the rules. No outside alcohol is supposed to be brought into the campgrounds even. If you aren't an early arrival the campsites get pretty steep. Definite wine and cheese crowd. Vendors are expensive. Not a droog free for all.

 Re: Floyd Fest
I dig the non free for all but i do not dig having to load and unload my stuff so much. i usually go to fests with my wife and we fill up a pick up truck with stuff.
Interesting thanks for the info.

 Re: Floyd Fest
Ugh horrible line up.... I'd rather have my prostate checked by E.T. than sit through that line up
